Christmas procrastinator...

Finally... we have our Christmas tree up! I finished it on Tuesday night which means I was procrastinated for several weeks and made it exactly one week before Christmas. I have been such a procrastinator this year with Christmas which is not typical. I don't know what the problem is - lack of money, lack of time, pure laziness - who knows. But needless to say, the tree is up and the house is decorated! YAHOO! Only 3 more days!

World's BEST dad!

My two little boys have the best dad in the world! Glen Allen is such a great father and absolutely loves his boys to pieces. As you can see, they feel the same way about their daddy! I am so glad to have such a wonderful husband!

Schools out for CHRISTMAS!!!!

Yahoo!!! I am DONE (for the semester)!! I feel like a student again who can't wait for Christmas break! When I was in school I always thought the teachers had it so easy... NOT TRUE!!! When my students start complaining about writing a simple 3-4 page paper, I remind them that they only have to write one paper and I have to grade about 20-30 per class (which equals about 120 papers total for just one assignment). Yeah, I am teaching 5 classes right now! Anyway... today was my last day of giving finals at Chandler-Gilbert and I can say I had everyone successfully pass (only one D). I just have my NAU class that still needs to finish their final and then I am on Christmas break for a month (definitely a perk to being a teacher... although along with that comes the disadvantage of no pay for that entire month... not fun right around Christmas). Anyway so I am very HAPPY!!! If anyone has any free time and wants to do a play date... I am all for it!

Ride or BUST!

Well of course as all of you know, it's that time of year! Nope, I am not talking about Christmas. I think Glen Allen would probably say this time of year is better than Christmas... it's a toss up! SAND DUNE SEASON!!!! Glen Allen is like a little kid in a candy store during dune season. He talks about it, dreams about it, reads about it, watches FUEL TV about it, and did I mention talks about it, all day long.
The weekend after Halloween we headed to the dunes with a big group from my parents ward. It was a blast.... check out the new adidtion to our family! Glen Allen bought Glen David his own little quad. It was a killer deal we couldn't pass up and Glen David absolutely LOVES it. He talks about it all the time. He is quite the little rider... he knows where the throddle is and he is not afraid to use it! He is a speed demon like his dad! I am not even exaggerating... every day since the trip, Glen mentions the sand dunes and his quad. He keeps saying, "I want to go faster on my quad at the sand dunes this weekend!" He loves it and his daddy loves that he loves it!

Happy Late Halloween!

Okay, I know I am a month late, but better late than never huh? If you are questioning my lateness, refer down a few blogs for my excuses, there are plenty of them... all legit I must add. :)
Now that I have established that... here are this years Halloween pics. :) Glen was a little hesitant of Halloween for some reason. He wanted the candy but he wanted me to say "trick or treat" and get it for him. He wouldn't even walk up to anyone at our ward "truck or treat". I guess it's that whole stranger danger phase. He also thought he was a "costume". When you asked him what he wanted to be for Halloween he kept saying, " I want to be a costume!". He didn't quite grasp the concept of his costume being a Ninja! Too funny! Jaxon was as cute as ever in his little Tigger outfit. He loved the big bowl of candy at grandma's house.

My little drunk monkey!

We were patiently waiting for Glen Allen to get in the car after a long day, we were all tired, Jaxon was hungry and mommy was cranky. I couldn't resist pulling out the camera for this one, however. He was holding the bottle up with his foot while half asleep drinking his bottle! What a little stinker!

Bath time!

As a mom, the favorite part of the day is bath time! WHY??? Because that means you have survived another day and it's almost bed time! YEAH! Majority of the time, both boys absolutely love bath time. It had been a while since I had gotten any bubbles for the bath and I knew Jaxon had never experienced bubble so I thought for sure he would love them and it would be a hit, but I guess not! He hated them! For some reason he was terrified of them and it was even worse when I put them on Glen's head. Who would have known?? Kids are so strange sometimes!

I am the luckiest!

I am the luckiest mom in the world! I have a wonderful, loving, supportive husband and the cutest two boys in the whole world (not that I am biased or anything!)

Slacker!!

I know, I know... I am such a slacker. My last post was in October, how lame! I don't feel like I have any time to post anything on the blog page because everytime I am on the computer, I feel like I should be doing school. I have 5 freakin' classes right now and I am drowning!! On top of that, (are you ready for this, you might want to sit down) I am training for a half marathon. Crazy I know... Heather running? It doesn't happen but I guess it's a good excuse to get all this ugly baby fat off! So, the moral of the story is... I need to get on top of my pictures. Hopefully in the next few days I will post some pictures to update everyone on what the Jones' have been up to lately!

Kids... you gotta love them!

So literally as I am typing my last post about the
house, I look over and see this....

Jaxon is trying to eat a marshmallow that is stuck to the floor from Glen's Count Chocula cereal this morning. It would be one thing if he was just picking it off the floor and eating it (he is a boy, boys do that) but he has to take it one step further by trying to literally eat/lick it off the floor. YUCK!!! The funny thing is, he didn't even succeed... the marshmallow is still stuck to the floor!

Our New House

So I have had a few people ask when I was going to post pictures of the house... so here they are. We love it! After World War III during the "transition period" of selling, finding and closing I am glad we found the one we did. It was definitely an answer to prayers because we were able to find something that we both liked. I wanted something that looked nice inside and Glen wanted a big lot, no HOA and an RV gate (which is much harder to come by than it sounds). But after much searching, we found it! I has a HUGE backyard with grass, a big sand box, a concrete slab already poured for Glen's shop and the house was in GREAT condition and decorated perfectly for my taste and style and to top it off, it's 4 bedrooms which gives an office/scrapbook room and a separate playroom which is HEAVEN!

Late Niter

So last night I had an absolute blast! I enjoyed a much needed girls night out (which by the way my husband has been such a trooper about)! Me and two of my girlfriends, Kasey and Sarah, went to a scrapbooking late niter. I've been having "the itch" lately to scrapbook because embarrassing as it is, I haven't scrapbooked since before Jaxon was born (almost a year). Anyway, after feeling overwhelmed from the idea of starting Jaxon's book, I decided to make a "Jones Family Summer Fun 2007" book. Believe it or not, in a 5 hour time frame I only got two 2-page spreads done! When I came home and showed Glen his comment was "that is all you got done?". Yeah, that's all... but it was fun regardless except for the REALLY late night I had. I didn't even get home until midnight and then to make matters worse I tossed and turned until 2:00 am because I had scrapbooking on the brain and kept thinking up new ideas for pages. Then to top it all off... Jaxon decided he wanted to be awake at 6:00 am this morning! Gotta love it!

What a FACE!

Have I mentioned lately how much I love my boys?!? How can you not laugh when you see such a cute little face and huge old melon head? Jaxon is making the funniest faces lately... I absolutely love it!

Sand Dune Season!

Well, hopefully I am back and running again on the blogging... as long as my computer cooperates with me. This past weekend Glen Allen finally convinced me that riding season has officially begun. We had a blast over in Yuma at the sand dunes! Glen David thought he was in playground heaven with the unlimited amounts of sand (which I am still trying to clean out of every little nook and cranny of his body)! Jaxon was a little more hesitant of the unfamiliar "stuff" but soon decided it was a new adventure! At one point I dug two big rocks out of his mouth that he had been chomping on!

Glen David was a champ! He got his first ride on the sandrail and loved it!

Glen David also took his very first ride on a quad all by himself! It was AWESOME! He gunned it, had his first wreck as the quad flipped over on him, he got back up and gunned it again, at which point he did a 360 and then decided he was done! His dad was SO proud!

All in all, it was a great trip! I had my first experience riding the dunes and loved it! All I need to do now is rob a bank so I can buy myself a quad and a toy hauler! :)

Change!

So I have decided that I don't know what the deal is with my blog and I am feeling totally out of the loop so with the suggestion of my good friend Kasey, I am going to try to create a new page and see if that helps. I will send an update with the new blog address as soon as I get it done.

I am so busy with school, the boys and the whole moving drama that I haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time on the blog. I will get it done soon though! :)

Update!

I figured out what the problem is... my memory is too low on my home computer so it won't let me add anything to the blog... so strange! Anyway, I need to get that fixed so I can update with new pictures.
As for updated news... it's a long story but we are not moving into the house on Power and Brown like we thought. That one fell through for several reasons, but we have an offer in on another one located on Sossaman and Guadalupe. The problem is, it's a pre-forclosure so we are just waiting for the bank to respond back to our offer. Keep your fingers crossed that they come through quickly... if not, we are homeless in less than 2 weeks.
Gotta run to go teach class but I will try to add more later!

The BIG News!!

Okay, so to some of you this isn't new news but to others it might be! I am pregnant! HAA-HAA JUST KIDDING! Totally joking... but I bet that is what you were thinking huh? No, really the big news is... WE ARE MOVING! Yup, it's a bittersweet situation. We absolutely love our ward in Queen Creek and we are going to miss our good friends out here but we decided it's time to move. We sold our house (crazy as that sounds with the housing market these days) and we found one in Mesa (Power and Brown area). Of course if you know me at all, you know this just stresses me out like crazy because I don't handle change well... but deep down inside I really am excited! We have to be out of our house in Queen Creek by September 15th so hopefully everything will go smoothly with buying our new house so we are not homeless! :) I will keep everyone updated and will eventually get pictures up of the new house! If nothing else this just gives us an excuse to throw a house warming PARTY, right?!?

LAME!!

Okay, so I know I mentioned I have been having problems with my blog, but this is ridiculous! I am trying to figure it out. Of course my background situation still isn't fixed but on top of that, I am having the most difficult time just being able to sign in from my blog page. I don't know what the heck is going on.

I guess this is just one more thing to add to my HUGE list of added stress right now! I can't take it!

Lovin' the Water!

I am a little behind on updating my pictures... here are a few pictures of the boys at a swim party we went to. I wasn't planning on putting Jaxon in the water, hence the diaper, but I just couldn't resist when I remembered the little water falls. He LOVED it! He kept getting closer and closer to it. He was trying to eat the water but then he realized he couldn't breathe! It was hilarious!

Glen is such a little fish... he is taking survival swim lessons this summer and is doing great!

Glen Allen represented the family on the diving board since I wasn't about to get up there and try any of my old tricks. It's been about 10 years since I have been on a board and I didn't want to embarrass or kill myself. Plus, I don't think my body would be able to spin as fast now... the joys of child birth! :)

TAGGED!!!

So I guess I have been tagged and I have to bore you with 7 random things about me that you might not know... I am sure you will think I am crazy by the time you are done reading all these or else you will think to yourself, "I can't believe I just wasted a few minutes of my life reading such boring information!" :) Either way, enjoy!!!

1. Okay, I know this is so strange and pretty OCD of me, but I don't like my food touching at all when I eat, I eat one thing at a time until it is completely gone and I usually start by eating my least favorite thing first so I can finish with my favorite thing as my last bite. Let me explain.... if I have steak, potatoes, peas and salad, first of all none of them can touch... the A-1 can not be touching my potatoes or the peas and don't even think about having the salad dressing run onto anything... GROSS! I don't mix my peas and potatoes like most people do! Yuck! So I will typically eat the peas first until they are completely gone. Then the potatoes but I don't mix them with a bite of steak. Then onto the salad and last of all, I finish with the steak and TONS of A-1 aka liquid gold!! :)

2. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at my house right now (although my husband did have it completely clean when I got home from class yesterday which was a pleasant surprise) but I am an organizational freak! I have a place for everything in my house and everything has a place! For the most part, I can tell you exactly where something is, which shelf it is on, whether it's on the left or right of the shelf and what other things you are going to be able to find around it. This has saved me several times and even though my husband thinks I am crazy, if you honestly ask him, he will admit that it has saved his tail end several times when he really needs something. I have slipped a little lately and I am afraid it seems to be getting worse with every kid we add to the family but I am still pretty OCD about organizing everything!

3. This is a totally bad trait to have but I seem to be a pesimist about everything. This drives my husband crazy, especially when I start with all the "what if" scenarios. My philosophy is, if I expect the worst than anything better than that will be a pleasant surprise and I won't be too devestated if the worst happens. I know... pretty lame huh? I am trying to get better and I am sure my husband will say I have improved quite a bit since we first got married... at least I would hope he thinks that.

4. I get motion sick real easily... which seems crazy since I love traveling and I was a gymnast and diver for years growing up (where I was constantly in the air and flipping all over the place). I hate rollercoasters and anything of that nature that goes around and around. Flying makes me sick so I have to drug up on Dramamine everytime. I also get sick in a car, unless I am sitting in the front seat watching the road. Don't ask me to read while I am a passenger in a car cause it won't happen. :) I also get sick on boats... just ask all the lovely people who had the opportunity to experience a boat ride with me in Hawaii, I don't think the fish have ever been fed so well in their lives!

5. Believe it or not, I have (had) a huge fear of public speaking. When I was in high school and in the singles ward I used to absolutely freak out when I was asked to give a presentation in class or give a talk in church. I would almost have anxiety attacks everytime I thought about getting up and giving a talk. From the minute I was asked until the minute I was done that was all I would think about and worry about. I would also break out into hives on my neck while speaking. The reason this is so strange to me now is because this is what I do for a living now. I am a college professor so I am speaking in public everyday. I have been teaching for 2 years now and to this day it still amazes my dad that I am a teacher. I can't tell you how many times I have heard him say... "I can't believe you are actually a teacher, out of all the professions in the world, I never thought you would do that"!

6. They still kind of give me the willies but not near as much as they used to, but I used to have a huge fear of needles! To give you just a brief idea of what I am talking about... I passed out (at the age of 16) when I got my ears double pierced because I thought about the fact that I had basically just had two shots in my ears. I used to get light headed walking into a doctor's office and seeing a jar of syringes on the table and there was no way I could watch any show on TV when they were showing a needle of any kind. I even told my mom as a teenager, that I was never going to have kids because I didn't want to have any shots or an epidural. My motto today is... "BRING ON THAT EPIDURAL - or in my case now with c-sections - BRING ON THAT SPINAL BLOCK"!! :)

7. The last thing that I am sure several people don't know about me, is that I used to be a springboard and platform diver. I dove for years (from the age of about 9 until I graduated high school). I used to compete in summer leagues when I was young and once I hit high school I competed year round...during the school season and then I was on the Jr. Olympic team during the spring and summer. I was also coached by several former olympic metalist (one of which came in 2nd behind Greg Louganis). I was offered several scholarships when I graduated high school but at that point I decided that I didn't want to be "owned" by a college team and that I wanted to pursue other things like... finding a husband! :)

So there you have it... some things that you might not have known about me! I now tag Anjane, Kasey and Savannah!

Just like Dad

It amazes me what little kids pick up on. Glen David just thinks his dad walks on water and wants to be just like him. I was on the computer yesterday and he came in wearing his dads basketball shoes holding a basketball. Then last night we put on his motocross pajamas and he found one of Glen Allen's helmets and put it on. This morning, the helmet was the first thing he found when he woke up and literally as I type, he is sitting on the couch in his motocross pajamas, wearing the helmet and watching cartoons. I am definitely in for it in a few years when he starts asking for a motorcyle, a wakeboard and a snowboard so he can go play with dad.

RIDE GREEN!!!

Last night Glen finally convinced me to take the family out to the motocross track in Queen Creek out by our house. He has been dying to ride the track for several months now so it was much awaited for him. I don't know if it was with the aid of my much needed Dr. Pepper fix or what but the evening actually turned out to be beautiful which was a pleasant surprise. I was a bit cranky at first as I was positive I was going to be sitting outside, sweating my brains out, while chasing one rascal, keeping the other entertained and praying Glen wouldn't kill himself! The night was short lived by the boys and I when Glen David decided to touch one of the hot pipes on the dirtbike. You would have thought he was dying by all the drama! After about 15 minutes of hearing Glen David scream in pain and Jaxon crying because he was hungry and tired, I decided to cash in on the track and let Glen finish riding with his buddy Brad. The night ended in about a solid hour and a half of Glen David screaming, "oowie, oowie, I want my daddy, oowie, oowie", while getting Jaxon ready for bed and praying that Glen would make it home in one piece without a phone call that he was in the ER! Luckily only one Glen had a battle wound from the evening and it wasn't the breadwinner, thank goodness!

Durango, Colorado and the CRAZY Romneys!!

Can I just tell you how much I hate the Arizona heat?!? I knew I didn't like it but after spending the weekend in Colorado, I don't know how I handle 115 degrees for months at a time! We had such a great time and did I mention the beautiful weather?!? :) The Romney's (my mom's side of the family) had a reunion in Durango that has been long awaited. I haven't seen most of my cousins since my Junior year of high school when my grandpa passed away, so it was crazy to see everyone again, I almost didn't even recognize some of them! To give you an idea about what an adventure it was... there was about 75-80 people and about 25 of those were under the age of 3 staying in a lodge!! Let's just say, the Romney's definitely follow the "multiply and replenish" counsel! As one of the granddaughters, I was in charge of the planning and my "area of expertise" for this reunion was planning the activities. On Friday we all went to Durango Mountain Resort to do the alpine slides, mini golf, bungee trampoline, etc. As you can see, Glen David wasn't really fond of the bungee trampoline even though he kept saying, "I wanna jump on the trampopine!" After Durango mountain, Glen Allen took his other "baby" (not the dirtbike, but his truck) and did a little 4x4 with some of the cousins. Luckily the truck came back in one piece and no one had to dig them out! Then on Saturday we took the kids up to Silverton (about 50 miles outside of Durango) to walk around all the little shops, and we just happened to find the best funnel cakes around! Then that afternoon, we left the boys with grandma and grandpa and went white water rafting with about 25 of the cousins, aunts and uncles. It was an ABSOLUTE BLAST! The rapids were pretty lame but we made our own fun! The tour guides said they had never seen such a huge water fight last the entire stretch of the river! That night we had a family fireside/devotional that was really incredible and we ended the night with root beer floats and an apple pie carmel apple we got at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory! It was delish! Then Sunday we made the 6 hour treck back to the blazing Arizona sun! (The last picture is my mom - in the pink and white - with all her siblings).

Happy Birthday to ME!

I am a little behind because we have been out of town all weekend so I am finally getting around to adding pictures. Last Thursday was my birthday... the BIG 27!! (yes, I am getting old!) It's sad to say that I am now considered to be in my late 20's! WOW! All in all...it was a GREAT day! Glen Allen couldn't wait until my actual birthday to give me my presents so I got them the night before. He bought me these absolutely GORGEOUS roses, an iPod (my old one was stolen out of my car, but that is a whole different story), an iPod speaker box, and a collection of some of my favorite movies that I didn't have. On my actual birthday, I had to teach class bright and early at 7:00 am (which wasn't the ideal way to start off a birthday, but what could I do about it... I had to give a test to my students!) :). After class I went shopping with my sister-in-laws and mother-in-law which is always an adventure! We have a great time together. Then that night Glen took me to Outback for dinner and we ended off the night with a trip to the movies which is hard to come by now days with two kids. I was a little hesitant of Transformers, but it was actually a really good movie!

Growing up too fast!

Here is a picture I just took of Jaxon... he is getting so stinkin' big! He likes to sit up and watch everything that is going on around him, especially all the things that Glen is up to. I am sure before the end of the month he will be crawling which of course is a whole new ball game. We are heading to Durango Colorado next weekend for a Romney family reunion and I am just crossing my fingers that he is not crawling by then. I don't want to be chasing him around the lodge all day! Check out the gummy smile! I just melt everytime he smiles at me... even at 4:00 in the morning!

Monday, July 9, 2007

Do as I'm doing... follow, follow me!

And 1.. and 2... and 3... Jaxon is now in the stages of deciding to crawl. He gets up on his hands and toes and it looks like he is going to do push ups! Of course when Glen saw that we were pulling out the camera to take pictures of Jaxon's newest move, he wanted to be right there in the action as well!

Cancun, Mexico

Here are a few pictures from our trip. The one on the pier with the sunset behind us is on the coast of Cancun... we had just returned from scuba diving in Cozumel. Then we went to a place called Senor Frog's which is a restuarant by day and a crazy club by night! Glen's sign is fitting but I would have to disagree with mine! :) The last picture is a picture of the whole family on a party boat coming back from an island called Isla Mujeres. The trip was a blast (except for the humidity)!

Boys will be boys...

Here are some fun pictures of the two little stinkers!!! Jaxon is so intrigued by Glen David and likes to watch every little move he makes. Believe it or not, Glen David is sometimes the only one that can get Jaxon to stop crying when he is fussy. There is something about Glen David that just makes Jaxon smile. There is no question these two love each other!!!

Swimming at Nana's

Nana finally finished her dream pool at the end of last summer and the boys just love it. Glen David asks almost every day if we can go to nana's to go swimming. This is a picture of Glen and the boys in the baby pool at Nana's house. Glen is a little fish and is taking swimming lessons this summer and Jaxon just likes kicking and splashing around!

Missing Daddy!

This week has been a rough one for the whole family. Glen Allen is away in Orlando on a business trip and has been gone since Mothers Day and won't be back until this coming Sunday. We (the boys and I) decided to make a sign for daddy.

Easter Bunny and hunting!

These are a few more pictures from Easter. The Easter Bunny visited Glen David and Jaxon at Grandma and Grandpa Bean's house. He also left some eggs on his way out in the front yard so Glen David had a fun time collecting those. He has now figured out the idea of getting as many eggs as possible because he knows that each one means more CANDY!!
